Human Resources Report

Sarah March
Human Resources Manager

In the 2023-24 financial year, our Human Resources team’s key focus was to leverage technology to streamline HR processes, increase efficiency and to modernise the way we work. The team embarked on a significant project delivering a new HR system to manage rostering, time and attendance and payroll.

With the introduction of the new 'My Bays Hub App,' staff can now clock in and out, apply for leave, review their roster, and access their timesheets, all in one centralised app on their smartphone. Additionally, the new HR system has greatly enhanced the onboarding experience for new staff, reduced the time required for the process, and is more environmentally friendly. It also provides enhanced reporting to support data-driven decision-making and effective workforce management.

In the last 12 months the team has remained focused on talent acquisition, which included streamlining recruitment processes, building talent pools, promoting employee benefits and expanding The Bays brand presence through targeted campaigns and attendance at healthcare industry expos. We welcomed 105 new staff to join our team including 7 new Graduate Nurses.

We recognised and celebrated many staff who have worked at The Bays for 5, 10, 15, 20 years and even one staff member who has completed 30 years of service!

The HR team continue to work closely with management and staff to foster a culture of safety and wellbeing across the organisation, with a strong emphasis on reducing lost time injuries and facilitating the safe and timely return of injured workers.
