This year, we created a new Chief Information Officer position to drive enterprise technology and digital transformation initiatives, as well as streamline and integrate our many systems. This pivotal role has seen a number of innovative technology projects and business solutions delivered.


'Bayview' is our new, real-time dashboard. Bayview brings together data from our clinical and staffing systems, making reporting quicker and more intuitive. This innovative tool automates previously time-consuming tasks and helps us manage and deploy our resourcing more effectively.


We are in the midst of adopting the Microsoft 365 platform, which will redefine how our staff collaborate and share information. With everything from emails to documents and communication tools integrated in one platform, the result is greater visibility across teams, improved efficiency, and the flexibility to work from virtually anywhere. Additionally, this transition includes vital security enhancements that are a critical part of our cybersecurity efforts.


In the 2024-25 financial year we will be working on upgrading our network and WiFi, and a new online Patient Portal. There are long-standing challenges with the existing WiFi in the hospital and consulting suites, which is frustrating for patients, doctors and staff. Next year, we will take a big step to address these issues with a modernisation of the hospital's communication network. The new network will deliver more reliable, secure, and faster coverage for patients, doctors, visitors and staff. It is also a critical first step to enable further investment in other mobile technologies.


Our existing patient portal will also soon be replaced with a new user-friendly system. The new design makes it much easier for patients to register, and allows management of an entire family through a single account. Furthermore, we will have the ability to add and change the information we request as our needs change. The new portal will improve communication and streamline the registration process.
